"Humans also kill humans," he stated factually, not even bothering to look at her. "Do you hold the same vitriol to them as well?" Her squirming had him focusing on every minute thing she did, wanting to teethe her into stillness. Rhys, fortunately, had the necessity of paying attention to the road as they wound around the foothills of a mountain, entering the true heart of his territory.

Her demands did things to his gut even if he didn't readily show it. "Kill you?" Feyre's reward on that assumption was an eyebrow raise. "Are you talking about the literal sense or the metaphorical sense? Because I'm pretty certain if I wanted to kill you, I would make absolutely certain that it would happen with my name panting from your lips and my head between your thighs."

And that would be a pretty sight in his opinion. But...first thing was first, safety. He knew all too well how omegas were hounded and it was by sheer stupidity on Tamlin's part that she was unscathed. For someone bragging about being the best hunter on anything, his nose sucked. That's what one gets for being a 'yes man.'

There was more driving, of course, and then the glamour stopped, suddenly showing the edge of a sleepy, winding settlement that tracked a part of the s-shaped river that seemed to cut through the mountains that weren't there a moment ago. And the settlement was large, as big as a small city! But the buildings looked old. Quaint. Comfortable. And Rhys parked the vehicle in a narrow cobblestone alley between two tall town houses. The alley itself was barely large enough to fit the car, much less have the doors open completely. It was a trick to open the door part way and wriggle out, which Rhys did with practiced ease, already striding to open Feyre's door to let her out.

"If you run, I'll chase you, and I'm sure you know how excited an Alpha gets when they can chase something, hmm?"
