neverbendtheknee: Tyler James (Taking in the sights)

Rhys knew his head of security would ensure all alarms were silent and invisible. He did keep the feed on his phone as he strolled towards his office, watching her more than watching the halls. After all, he knew the halls like the back of his hand. She found the ring tucked all the way back in a drawer and pocketed it, ready to flee until she sucked in a breath.

He paused, watching her breath and something....something. There was just something about that pause that made him pay attention. He wondered what this woman was doing. Any beta wouldn't pause like that-they had no receptors for the pheromones that Alphas and Omegas emitted like a second language. Now the question was which one was she? Alpha, more than likely, which made him even more intrigued. Why prove themselves by stealing something from another Alpha? Perhaps it was a rite of passage thing. It would make sense, he supposed, with the newer generations itching for riskier tasks to prove their worth.

Whelps.

Timestamping that interesting scene of her breathing, Rhys picked up the step to his office, switching his phone to call his security. "Don't intercept her, but track her. I want to know where she goes and if she's in tandem with someone or operating solo. I want to see to this personally."

His security responded. "You're certain you want to give this more attention than necessary?"

"Yes. I tagged a portion of that feed I found interesting. I want to see what's going on."

Entering his office, he looked at the little things that were slightly out of place, important paperwork that was left ignored. He sucked in a slow, careful breath, opening his mouth to catch more of the scent. Nothing. No wait...something? All he took in was his own scent and the lingering scents of his staff, familiar and safe. But he didn't catch any of her scent at first --it was so faint-- and that was also interesting. Suppressors? Why?

This little mystery just got a whole lot more interesting.
