Oh, no. Nope, that would not do. Regardless of how Rhysand felt about Feyre (or, trying to figure out how he felt about Feyre,) having someone just come up to her and start touching her, no matter how innocent it seemed, had him seething. Keeping up with his aloof attitude, he sauntered up, easily creating space by inserting himself between Feyre and the male. The male held onto the human's elbow harder and Rhys canted his head in the Alpha's direction.

"Isn't that interesting! We just got here as well," he piped up, his fingers subtly digging into the male's hand to get him to release Feyre. "And how do you know the lady of honor?" He gave a nod towards the girl who was twirling around on the dance floor with her friends. "Because I'm dead certain you're here to celebrate her and not go sniffing around for unbonded Omegas." Rhysand fell silent for a beat, letting his words settle in. "That would be most discourteous to the lady of honor, wouldn't it?" And he didn't drop his gaze on the Alpha who stared at him, the corner of his lip curling.

In a lower, conspiring tone, Rhys leaned in just a bit. "Because what low life would be prowling around a little girl's presentation party like an uncultured beast in heat, hmm? One might think you had an interest in her and that. Just. Wouldn't. Do." The smile on his face did not convey happiness or joy. "Because going after children so much younger than you is not what a proper Alpha should be doing, hmm?" While it seemed like his voice was still somewhat cordial, there was a deep growling undertone that made some of the other Alphas look and all of the Omegas pause.

"Ah!" breaking the tension with a snap of his fingers, he pointed at the Alpha with narrowed eyes. "I got it. You're lost. You mistook this presentation party for the bar!" There was another slow grin on his face as the party started to return to normal. "Down the street, a block away to your left." He still didn't break the stare, not until the Alpha dropped his gaze first.

"See, you must be new here, or used to certain, protocols." Now he leaned into the Alpha's space, grabbing the male's elbow when he tried to move away. There was the flash of a wince on that face but then he schooled it as Rhys smiled, his words thick and slow like honey. "We don't touch what doesn't belong to us, here, and we especially don't touch when there is no consent." Another moment with that elbow in his hand and the Alpha winced again before Rhys released him, watching him until he left.

There were a chorus of breathy sighs somewhere in the room, most likely some ladies who had watched the event and decided right there that they needed him to be their Alpha. A heart beat later he turned to Feyre, folding his hands behind the small of his back as he offered a look of concern. "Are you alright? Did he bruise you?"
